Focus on Welcome and Inclusion Project
(of the Archdiocese of Brisbane, Australia)

Following on from a 2003 Synod priority that parishes are experienced as welcoming and inclusive communities, the Ministry and Community Life team of Faith and Life in the Archdiocese of Brisbane has developed a project to support deaneries and parishes to examine inclusive practices and develop strategies in this area.  One of the resources to support this project is a new website www.bne.catholic.net.au/fwi  The site was launched at the Parish Pastoral Councils Chairpersons day, February 24, 2007.

Some of the features of the website include

  • Accessibility features for people with disability

  • Translation service available in ten languages other than English

  • Resources for parish bulletins

  • Reflection sheets for use as prayer starters with groups

  • Stories to inspire and motivate

  • Links to resources and organisations which can provide practical assistance

  • Easy to navigate, find and use resources

  • Discussion board

Rev Anthony Gooley, of the Ministry and Community Life team in the Archdiocese invites you to visit the site and see what resources may be useful for your parish community.
